Bedhampton has been around for a long time, with references going back as far as the 9th century. It is mentioned in the Domesday book, a manuscript created by the order of William the Conquerer in 1086. Bedhampton used to be a village, however expansion over the years means it is now considered to be a suburb of Havant.

Geographically it is situated at the top of Langstone Harbour and at the western end of Portsdown Hill, including some of the hill slopes. The A3(M) runs north to south and passes through Bedhampton, making access to London, Portsmouth and Southampton very convenient. The A27 gives excellent access to the east and towns such as Chichester.

There is a local train station, however it is quite small and not all the trains stop here. Havant station is only slightly further away and the large majority of services will stop here, including the faster trains to London.
