Financing your purchase
If you require a mortgage but you’re unsure how much you can borrow, you may like to speak with our financial advisor, Charlotte. Not only can she calculate your borrowing potential, she can also obtain a mortgage ‘decision in principle’ certificate which will confirm to the agent you wish to buy through that you’re able to afford the property.
Once you have a found a property and had an offer accepted, you will need to appoint a solicitor to act as your legal representative. Please visit our solicitors page for further information. Once you’ve chosen, you’ll be asked to complete initial paperwork and pay monies on account.
Agents must conduct anti-money laundering checks, as will your solicitor. You’ll need to explain where any non-mortgage funds came from. Of course, for many this comes from a related sale, but the location and source of any other funds will be queried and may need to be evidenced.
